Piano Camp: Level 1 “Around the World”

(Link to online registration form below)

Who should sign up?

Students ages 7+ who are currently enrolled in piano lessons AND are currently working in or near the Level 1 Faber Piano Adventures method books or an equivalent level are invited to sign up! Lesson plans for this camp are custom designed for students at this level of study.

When is it?

July 14th – July 17th, 2025
Monday – Thursday Mornings
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

What activities will be included?

Our core focus will be learning to play 3 folk songs from around the world from lead sheets. Playing off of lead sheets is a skill that is not always taught in regular private lessons but plays a crucial role in forming a holistic understanding of the keyboard and how music works. This area of study is perfectly suited for group learning as students will spend time sharing a keyboard with a partner while learning the left hand chords, then the right hand melodies, and then putting hands together and playing with the group in a “piano chorus”!

Students will also enjoy breaks from the keyboard while participating in music enrichment activities such as folk dances, Rhythm Cup Explorations (copyright ComposeCreate), Rhythm and Note Name Relay Races, Music Bingo, and Music Reflection activities.
